Updated: Mar 18, 2023

Devotionals

Prayer Prompts:

Day 1

21 Days of Prayer begins today!

I know that God is going to work through this. Be open to His movement and expect that you will be shaped by His love and grace. Don’t rush this. Connecting with God is worthy of setting aside time to be still and quiet before Him.

Each day for the next 21 days I'll post some prayer prompts, Scripture, and a link to a devotional.

Get alone with God and take the time to seek Him and let the prayer and Scripture sink in.

Scripture:

Psalm 55:1

Psalm 130:2

Romans 12:12

Prayer:

Pray for those who are taking this challenge.

Any other needs you are aware of.

Your heart

What sin needs to be confessed?

What are you holding back from God?

Day 2

21 Days of Prayer (Day 2)

You're off to a great start. Don’t rush this, and don’t let life get in the way. Block out some time each day to think, pray, and reflect. Same time, same place, if possible. You won’t regret it.

Scripture:

Mark 7:33-35

Luke 5:16

John 17

Hebrews 5:7

Pray:

Your Family

Does your family know Jesus?

Do they see a clear example of following Jesus in you?

Day 3

21 Days of Prayer (Day 3)

Hang in there.  You can do this.  If you happen to miss a day just jump back in where you left off. I encourage you to get alone with God and take the time to seek Him and let the prayer and scripture sink in.

Scripture:

Ephesians 6:18

Philippians 3:10-11

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Day 4

21 Days of Prayer (Day 4)

Psalm 103:11-12

Hebrews 8:12

1 John 1:9

Pray:

Day 5

21 Days of Prayer (Day 5)

You're doing great!  Keep going.  Life will try to derail you but keep pushing through.

Part of the value of this is building some new habits and being intentional about making Jesus a priority.  Lean into that.

Day 6

21 Days of Prayer (Day 6)

You're doing great!  Stay on target.  We’re almost through week one. Sticking to the same time and place each day can help you stay focused and on track.

I’m praying for you to stick to this and to grow in some unexpected ways.

Keep up the great work. I have an additional challenge for you today.  Do something nice for someone, something above and beyond, something they won't expect.  Find a way to show kindness today.  You may just lighten someone's load, even if only for a few minutes.  I pray that you have a great day as you continue through 21 Days of Prayer.

21 Days of Prayer (Day 9)

Today we gather for worship, and tomorrow we scatter for ministry. Let's not take our times of corporate worship for granted, or neglect times of private worship. We need them both. We have just a few days left on this, and I would love to hear what's going on with you.  How have you changed, what prayers have been answered, what has God done?  Please respond below or send me a private message. Let’s celebrate what God is doing!

there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

Day 18

21 Days of Prayer (Day 18)

Jesus experienced some of the worst things that we can imagine: betrayal, abandonment,

wrongful conviction, torture, humiliation, the wrath of God. Every bit of that was a willful and

powerful display of His love. Take some time today to think about the power of that love. Our sin was great, but His love is greater.

Scripture:

Romans 12:19-21

1 Peter 5:7

Ephesians 6:11-12

Pray like this:

Matthew 6:9-13

9  ...“‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10  your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11  Give us today our daily bread. 12  And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Day 19

21 Days of Prayer (Day 19)

You've almost made it.  Don't give up now! As you follow Jesus to the cross in these last few

days take some time to prepare your heart for Easter. The cross was used to purchase our freedom, but praise God it wasn't the end. I pray that you have a great day, and that I get to see you this weekend.

Scripture:

Matthew 6:9-15

Pray like this:

Father God, we thank you that your amazing unfathomable love has been poured out for us at the cross and poured into us by the Holy Spirit. We want to taste and experience more of the depth and breadth and length and height of your amazing love. Help us to walk by faith. Help us to endure in suffering. Help us to own our need of you. Help us to fully embrace your Son, Jesus Christ, our Redeemer. So, pour out your love into our hearts, in increasing measure by the power of your Holy Spirit, through Jesus Christ our Lord. It is in his name that we pray, Amen.

Day 20

21 Days of Prayer (Day 20)

The end of our prayer emphasis is almost here, and Easter is right around the corner. This time with Him is preparing you for eternity with Him. Revelation 21-22 paint a picture of what we have to look forward to. Take some time today to think about what our forever home will be like, and the price that Jesus paid for us to be able to enjoy it with Him. Take in His love, and live it out as a response to His great grace.

Genesis 4:1-8

Pray like this:

Based on 2 Corinthians 5:1-5 (https://unlockingthebible.org/2015/06/15-powerful-prayers-from-the-bible/)

Father God, we praise you for the wonderful future that you have prepared for us through the death and resurrection of your Son, Jesus Christ. We eagerly await the day when we will enter into your presence for all eternity with holy bodies untainted by sin. Please help us to not lose heart when we face the many pressures, anxieties, and troubles of life in this fallen world. Let us take great courage in the knowledge that you’ve given us the Holy Spirit to prepare our souls for our kingdom dwelling with you. Thank you for letting Jesus live in us. It is in his name that we pray, Amen.

Day 21

21 Days of Prayer (Day 21)

You made it! Today is the last day. I hope this has been joyful and life-giving, and not just

another thing on your to-do list. If you’re willing to share, I would love to hear what God has

done in your heart and life over the last few weeks.

Tomorrow is Eggstravaganza. I hope you can come so that we can enjoy a fun time together as a family while serving our community. And then we get to gather and celebrate Jesus, and the hope we have in His life, death, and resurrection. See you soon!
