"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy." (Matthew 5:10) Mercy is having a concern for people in need. . . assisting those who are less fortunate than ourselves. That includes those that suffer the consequences of disappointment, disease, & distress. Mercy does not stop with compassion or sadness over someone in dire straits . . . it means identifying with those who are hurting & imagining the pain they are having to endure, & then doing something about it. It's not just feeling sympathy for someone in trouble, but really getting inside the other person's skin, feeling what they feel, understanding their misery, & then helping them through it! Show mercy for someone today who needs it!
