"Behold I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you." (Proverbs 1:23) The Holy Spirit, for the believer is like the fuel for a car. The Holy Spirit energizes us to stay on the course. He motivates us regardless of the obstacles. He keeps us going when the going gets rough. The Holy Spirit comforts us when we are in distress. He calms us in times of calamity, becomes our companion when we're lonely and filled with grief, and He spurs our "intuition" into action and fills our minds with discernment when we are uneasy about a certain decision we have to make. In short, He is our fuel. When we attempt to operate without Him or use some substitute fuel, all systems come to a halt!
