Mid Week Devotional With Chris Chase
"O Lord, lead me in your righteousness; . . . make Your way straight before me." (Psalm 5:8) God's voice is not hard to hear. In fact, you almost have to be closing your eyes and plugging your ears to miss it. He often shouts through our pain or whispers to us while we're relaxing on vacation. Occasionally He sings to us in a song. He also warns us through the 66 books of His written Word. It's right there in black and white. We can count on it, He will never lead us astray. In addition to His unfailing source of wisdom, He has given us wise counselors, friends, and acquaintances, parents, teachers, and mentors who have earned our love and respect through many long years. We should screen what we believe to be the will of God through their thoughts and perspectives. Does our conviction about the direction we're headed grow, or are we seeing red flags and caution signs? Before we undertake a major change of direction in life, we must be very careful that it is God's voice and calling that we are hearing!
