Summit 2020 (Leadership Retreat)
We're training to run our race with endurance
Everything has shifted in some way this year, including our leadership retreat. If nothing else, 2020 is teaching us to be flexible and adaptive.
I can't wait to spend the day with you Sunday. It's always good for us to pull away from our busy lives and spend some time together praying and planning.
Our theme this year is Running the Race with Endurance. Paul used the idea of running a race as a way of describing our life of service and ministry. Success in God's kingdom is the result of focus, endurance, and team work. Those will be the things we talk about this year as we learn to run for the prize, which is always Jesus.
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us..."- Hebrews 12:1
Our day together will begin in our10:30 a.m. worship service. We'll gather with our church family to worship our Savior and to talk about Running for the Prize.
We'll take a quick break after the service to interact with IBL as they prepare to begin their service.
Once their service begins we will head to the fellowship hall for a short team building exercise. I'll give you the directions for that on Sunday.
Lunch will be a little late, around 1:30 pm or so. Snacks will be provided, though, and we'll eat as soon as Pastor Mario and some of his leaders are able to join us after their worship service.
Our sessions for the afternoon will be workshop style and discussion driven. Please prepare by thinking through your individual ministry, and our ministry as a whole church.
The flow for the day will go like this:
Worship - Running for the Prize
Team Building
Session 1 - Finishing Well
Lunch
Session 2 - Running with Endurance
Session 3 - Running Together
Session 4 - Field Trip & Prayer time
We are working hard to strengthen our ministry and making good progress. Our time together on Sunday will focus on the big picture of our ministry, and how we can set the course for a thriving, God-honoring ministry that can last the nest 100 years.
Lace up your shoes and lets run this race!
Please let me know if you have any questions, or if there is any way that I can help you lead your ministry more effectively.
In Him,
Pastor Jason
Our mission is to share new life in Jesus and develop Christ-followers who change the world.
